PRESIDENT JOKOWI INAUGURATES NTB’S LARGEST DAM: TIU SUNTUK

Tiu Suntuk Dam
On 2 May, President Jokowi officiated the Tiu Suntuk Dam, the largest of the seven dams in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province. This inauguration not only highlights the dam’s monumental scale but also marks NTB as the province with the highest number of dams in Indonesia; proving the region’s commitment to enhance its water management infrastructure.
Tiu Suntuk Dam provides irrigation for 1,900 hectares of agricultural land, ensuring a stable water supply for farming activities. Additionally, it supplies 680 litres of raw water per second, catering to the needs of the local population. It also plays a crucial role in flood mitigation, significantly reducing the risk of flooding in the West Sumbawa area.
